🌟 Life at the Home

We are proud to share that some of our staff have successfully completed their dementia training with St Michael’s Hospice and have been awarded certificates in recognition of their achievement.

🎉 Activities & Wellbeing

March has been a busy and joyful month at Old Hastings House!

  • 👶 We welcomed children from local schools, creating meaningful intergenerational interactions.
  • 🍀 We celebrated St Patrick’s Day with festive activities.
  • 🍕 Residents enjoyed a pizza-making day.
  • 🎳 Fun recreational sessions included carpet bowls and balloon volleyball.

🩺 Health & Care Updates

We continue to actively recruit for vacant care positions to ensure our residents receive the highest quality of support and care.

🛠️ Maintenance within the Home

Ongoing maintenance work is taking place across the home:

  • 🚪 Fire door works are being carried out throughout the building, which may cause temporary disruption during visits.
  • 🛏️ Room upgrades are in progress, with improvements being completed on a rolling basis, one room at a time, to minimise disruption.

👥 Staffing & Community

We welcomed several new team members in March:

  • 👩‍⚕️ 2 Carers
  • 🧹 2 Housekeepers
  • 🍳 1 Kitchen Assistant
  • 👩‍🍳 1 New Cook

We are pleased to confirm that we now have a full housekeeping team in place. These additions strengthen our workforce and help us continue delivering high-quality care and support to our residents.

🌞 Looking Ahead

With the warmer weather approaching, we are excited to give our residents the opportunity to enjoy some sunshine and outdoor activities, promoting both wellbeing and happiness.

We also warmly invite you to our Relative Meeting on 30 April 2026 at 2:00 PM, which will be held in the Front Dining Room.
